Emerald II Rye is the third of our Blue Run rye releases, and features a sweeter, more rounded profile than its predecessor (Emerald I Rye). This Kentucky Straight Rye contains 212 barrels aged across diverse locations of the rickhouses, contributing to its well-balanced flavor. This is a jewel that embraces the distinct, spicy characteristics of rye, but with the smoothness and depth of an aged bourbon.
Tasting Notes
Aroma
A bouquet of butterscotch interplays with tropical notes reminiscent to rum based grilled pineapple.
Palate
The sweetness of maraschino cherry hits the palate, followed by tropical notes of mango juice, rounding out with wood spice.
Finish
A full and fruity finish that builds.
